The science and advantages of probiotics are nearly as old as civilization. I take a probiotic every morning to ensure a healthy gut and if I find myself taking antibiotics (something that rarely happens) I will make sure to take my probiotic two hours apart from the antibiotic until I’ve finished the regimen, then I’ll take a probiotic twice daily for another week afterward to restore the bacteria to my stomach and then go back to once per day after that.
